This term our theme is still All Things Royal. Last half-term we concentrated on Tudor Kings and Queens and this half-term we will be concentrating on life in castles and how they were built for defence and as a place to live. We will use design technology skills to build a trebuchet.
In English we will be reading the book Dragons at Crumblin’ Castle by Terry Pratchett. We will be looking at how Pratchett plays with words for part of our spelling lessons. We’ll also study story openings involving speech action or description. We will be looking at how to build a character and setting in a story. Then we will plan and write our own short story based in a castle.
In maths we will be concentrating on place value, fractions and decimal fractions
